David Linn
Position 1 – Zone 1
David Linn is a life-long Portlander and this will be his first term serving on the Board of Centennial School District. He lives with his wife and son, who is a Centennial student, moving on to Centennial Middle School this year.
Linn has worked many years for the Oregon Health Licensing Boards, currently with the Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology. Linn earned a bachelor’s degree in Politics and History and a master’s degree in Public Administration, both from Portland State University. His specialty is local government administration.
Additionally, he serves as a board member of the Centennial Community Association and is an active member of the Centennial Neighborhood Emergency Team. Aside from volunteering, Linn loves gardening, woodworking, politics, and playing basketball.

Ronald “Jess” Hardin
Position 2 – Zone 2
Ronald “Jess” Hardin is beginning his third year of service on the Centennial School Board. He is also a member of the Meadows Elementary Parent Teacher organization and the Centennial School District Budget Committee. In addition, for a number of years, he was the official announcer for Centennial High School’s varsity football games.
When not involved with the Board or other Centennial School District committee activities, Hardin works as an organic produce buyer.
Hardin sees the Centennial community as his extended family. He believes that we should celebrate our accomplishments and address the needs of the community.

Claudia Andrews
Position 3 – Zone 3
Claudia Andrews has served on the board as an appointee on two different occasions and she was elected to the board in May 2021.
Before retiring from the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA), Andrews worked there in various capacities, ranging from staff to management. She served as Chief Operating Officer at BPA when she retired.
Andrews lives in Damascus. She is involved in various local organizations and enjoys biking, hiking and gardening.
She graduated from Gresham High School. Her husband and daughter both attended Pleasant Valley Elementary and graduated from Centennial High School.

Melisssa Standley
Position 6 – At-Large
Melissa is beginning her second year of service on the Centennial School Board. She has lived in this community for almost 20 years and has had 3 children go through elementary through high school here, as well as one kiddo do the preschool program! She is a huge believer in giving back to your community and believes you can work to make things better.
When not involved with the Board, she works as an elementary school teacher and a local Portland actress. She believes in public school and its many ways to help children and families and sees the arts as a way to reach all!

Rose Solowski
Chair, Position 5 – At-Large
Rose Solowski comes to the Centennial School District Governing Board with decades of experience advocating for youth and youth empowerment. Solowski was sworn in as Centennial School Board Director, Position 3 - At-Large, on December 8, 2021.
She currently serves as Associate Director of Alumni and Family Engagement for Friends of the Children - Portland.
As a former Centennial Youth Sports League Board member with two children in the district, Solowski is highly involved and invested in the success of Centennial schools, students, and staff.
When not spending time with her husband, children, and numerous pets, Rose loves to paint, sew, craft, and read.
Solowski was elected Board Chair on February 9, 2022.

Will Mohring
Position 6 – At-Large
Director William Mohring, Position 6 – At-Large, was sworn into the Centennial School District Board of Directors on October 9, 2024.
As the owner and principal broker of Mohring Realty Group, Mohring has demonstrated a strong focus on excellent customer service, building long-term relationships, continuous personal and team development, and a commitment to fostering a diverse and culturally rich environment. Additionally, his active participation in local events and support for small businesses showcase his dedication to his community and his desire to create a vibrant and inclusive environment for all.
Mohring resides in SE Portland with his wife and two young children, and in his free time enjoys traveling, gardening, and volunteering for organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and his neighborhood association.

Pam Shields
Vice-Chair, Position 7 – At-Large
Pam Shields has served on the board since 2011.
Education is her passion, having been a lifetime student and educator, working at a Migrant-Indian Day Care Center in her teens, teaching in graduate school, then teaching and coaching for 10 years the Awesome Eagle Show Band Color Guard at Centennial High School. From there, she taught at Mt. Hood Community College as a full-time faculty member in the Business Department and served as Department Chair.
Shields lives in the Pleasant Valley area. Besides her commitment to a variety of organizations and unions, she always finds time to kayak and camp in Oregon’s great outdoors.
Centennial is a family affair. Her husband graduated from Centennial High School. All three of her children attended Pleasant Valley Elementary, Centennial Middle School, and are graduates of Centennial High School. In addition, four of her grandchildren are attending Centennial schools. “Once an Eagle, Always an Eagle” could not be a truer statement in her family.
