Equity Audit

Equity Audit Overview & Process

Beginning in November 2022, the Centennial School District conducted an Equity Audit at the District, department, and school levels. 

The Equity Audit was conducted over a seven-month period between November 2022 and September 2023 and ran parallel to the Strategic Planning Process.

The Equity Audit included significant community engagement at each of the phases. Surveys responses yielded 3,080 participants that included 295 family/caregiver, 330 staff members, and 2,455 students. Over the course of the audit, 449 Centennial community members participated in focus groups including students, teachers, parents and caregivers, certificated & credentialed non-teaching staff, and non-certified staff. The three phases include:

PHASE 1: Diagnosis of Current State

November 2022 - April 2023

Phase I included:

  • Administration of student, staff, family and community surveys 
  • Collection and analysis of student outcome and access data 
  • Classroom and School observations and focus groups conducted by the National Center for Urban School Transformation (NCUST)

PHASE 2: Root Cause Analysis and Recommendations

April 2023 - June 2023

Phase 2 included:

  • Analysis of student, staff, family and community survey responses 
  • Analysis of school level reports from NCUST 
  • Meetings with district and site leaders to process initial findings and to engage in analysis

PHASE 3: Early Implementation

June 2023 - September 2023

Phase 3 included: 

  • Prioritization of action from Roadmap ʻ27 based on initial Equity Audit findings
  • Development of School Improvement Plans (SIP) and Departmental Plans aligned to Equity Audit findings and Strategic Plan Priorities
  • Development of Equity Indicator Dashboard
