Budget Committee
The Budget Committee is composed of both members of the School Board as well as seven additional community volunteers, with roles and responsibilities prescribed by Oregon Budget Law. Each year, the Budget Committee reviews the proposed budget and shares their feedback with District leadership, as well as provides District leadership with direction on budget priorities. After hearing feedback from the public, the Budget Committee approves the budget if they believe it accurately represents the needed priorities, after which the budget is sent to the Board of Directors for final adoption.
Now Seeking Applicants for the CSD Budget Committee
The Centennial School District is currently looking to fill four vacancies on its Budget Committee. The Committee is composed of 14 members (7 school board members and seven district community members appointed by the Board) and their responsibility is to review financial information at Budget Committee meetings beginning in January 2027. Community members appointed to the Budget Committee will serve in this role through May 2029. Committee members may also be invited to attend additional Board Work Sessions that include relevant budget information. Residents within the District may apply for this vacancy.
The Board of Directors is asking interested applicants to complete the application and return it to the office of Business Services by Wednesday, October 21, 2026. Completed applications should be submitted to Paul Southerton, Chief Financial Officer and Director of Business & Operations, at paul_southerton@csd28j.org, or dropped off at the Centennial School District office at 18153 SE Brooklyn St., Portland, OR 97236.
